Merrill in the Mamanucas

Merrill took a circuitous route to get here, but she has arrived in Fiji and seems to be adjusting well to the southern hemisphere tropics. This serves as a nice companion post to my Tuesday Poem this week, which features ‘Coax’, a poem by Susan Tepper that first appeared at Blue Five Notebook.

I’ve already dug into Tepper’s new book, fast-paced and funny and a little too real sometimes. Merrill’s a little lost, but witty. And she sure gets around.

For an excerpt, go here.

Susan Tepper’s The Merrill Diaries (Pure Slush Books, 2013) will celebrate with a book launch on September 26 at 7pm at Watchung Booksellers in Montclair, New Jersey. If you are in the general area, check it out! Details here.
